About Broadway

Broadway Elementary School is a single track school located one mile from the Pacific Ocean in Venice. The artistic, creative Venice community gives our school a diversity of cultures with the common goal of creating a nurturing environment where children can develop to their fullest potential.

The elementary school’s beautiful, historic brick building has stood since 1926. Some of our families have been attending Broadway for three generations.

Broadway has very hard working, supportive parents. Parent involvement has increased dramatically in recent years, and we continue to embrace opportunities for parents to be part of their children’s education process.

The instructional setting at Broadway includes the English program, Dual Language Mandarin Immersion, and Dual Language Spanish Immersion classes. There is also  a Resource Specialist Program. 

Our curriculum is based on the Common Core State Standards. Teachers utilize grade level pacing plans based on LAUSD core curriculum programs, along with analysis of data provided through periodic assessment, to ensure that all students receive quality, rigorous instruction.

PARTNERSHIP WITH ANIMO HIGH SCHOOL

Broadway is the host site of the Green Dot Animo High School in Venice. In September, 2009, over 500 Animo students returned to the Venice location after the high school’s environmentally green building was completed.

As partners to the Broadway family, Animo students have collaborated with Broadway in a variety of ways, such as volunteering at Broadway’s Family Literacy Night and Read Across America events. We look forward to continuing our partnership in collaborating with the Animo faculty and students.
